Contact Lenses
This is to introduce you to the contact lens department of Affiliated Eye Surgeons. Our contact lens technician for the past 25 years has been Pauletta Bartley COT, NCLEC/ABO. She obtained her ophthalmic technician certification in July 1981. Loving the challenge of contact lens fitting, she pursued certification as a contact lens technician with the National Contact Lens Examiners and became certified in August of 1989. She subsequently became a member of the Contact Lens Society of America. In 1996 she also became an optician certified by the American Board of Opticians.
Contact lenses have changed dramatically over the past 25 years. There are contact lenses that correct for astigmatism, near sightedness, and far sightedness. For those patients over 40 that now need reading glasses there are bifocal contact lenses and a process called monovision where one contact lenses for near vision and one contact lens if for distance vision. There are disposable contact lenses that can be worn continuously for a month as well as contact lenses that are worn for a day and then disposed of. There are tinted lenses to change eye color, as well as lenses custom tinted to fix iris defects. There are also the corneal refractive therapy lenses that are slept in overnight and removed in the morning allowing the individual to be lens free during the day.
If you wish to discuss any of your options or have further questions concerning contact lenses, please feel free to contact Pauletta and she will be happy to see if she can help answer any concerns you may have.
Our phone number is (602) 263-9345, and Pauletta does have an email address at pbartley_azeyes.com. For your added convenience Pauletta can see you at any one of our three offices.
