E. Fredrick Bloemker, M.D.
joined Affiliated Eye Surgeons in 1971. He graduated from
Indiana University School of Medicine. He is the only
doctor in Arizona that was listed as a "Top Doc"
by Phoenix Magazine in six of the last eight years.
After serving as a Flight Surgeon in the U.S. Air Force,
he returned to Indiana University for his ophthalmology
residency. His practice is now limited to cataract, lens
implant surgery and laser refractive surgery. |

Stanley R. Shorb, M.D.
graduated from Jefferson Medical School, did his residency
in ophthalmology at Letterman Army Medical Center, San
Francisco, and a fellowship in retinal vitreous surgery
at the University of California, San Francisco. His specialties
are retinal and cataract implant surgery. He is one of
ten doctors in Arizona with an extra year of training
in retinal detachments and diseases of the retina. He
has been selected many times as a Phoenix Magazine
"Top Doc". |

Michael S. Balis, M.D.
graduated with honors from Franklin and Marshall College
and from Cornell University Medical School. He performed
his ophthalmology residency at the University of California,
San Francisco and has completed fellowships in medical
and neurological ophthalmology. Following a tour of duty
as Chief Medical Officer aboard a U.S. Nuclear Submarine,
Dr. Balis established his practice in Phoenix in 1977. |

J. Bruce Stadwiser, M.D.
graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine,
received his ophthalmology training while serving with
the United States Public Health Service in Baltimore.
He has practiced general ophthalmology in Phoenix since
1971 and is a past president of the Phoenix Ophthalmological
Society. Dr. Stadwiser has a special interest in the treatment
of glaucoma and dry eye problems. |

Raymond J. Zimmerman, M.D.
grew up in Scottsdale and is a graduate of Brophy College
Preparatory. He attended Creighton University School of
Medicine and completed his residency in Ophthalmology
at Loyola University of Chicago. Dr. Zimmerman chose to
further his training by completing and extra year in a
glaucoma fellowship with University Eye Specialists, an
affiliate of Northwestern University. |

Sheldon Davidson, M.D.
is a graduate of the Chicago Medical College and completed
five years of residency training in ophthalmology with
the U.S. Public Health Service in Baltimore, Maryland.
After several years of working with the Indian Health
Service, Dr. Davidson established his practice in Phoenix
and specializes in adult and child eye muscle surgery
and dry eye conditions. He operates a clinic at the Children
Rehabilitative Services and recently chaired the Advisory
Committee on Special Education for the state of Arizona.
Dr. Davidson is past president of the Phoenix Ophthalmological
Society. |
Dr. Shorb has completed a retina fellowship. Dr. Balis has
completed a medical and neuro-ophthalmology fellowship. Dr.
Zimmerman has completed a glaucoma fellowship. By combining
the skills of these three ophthalmologists with the general
ophthalmological training and experience of Dr. E. Fredrick
Bloemker, Dr. Michael Balis and Dr. Sheldon Davidson, we can
